Welcome to Sussex-Arts, my website to showcase my personal photography.
As a commercial photographer, I've run my own studio since the year 2000, one of the first digital studios in Sussex.
I began work at the age of 16, straight from school, as a studio assistant in a well respected, family run commercial/advertising studio, where I gained much of my experience, completing a two year apprenticeship and a two year photographic course at Brighton Polytechnic, working my way up through the business, staying with them for 24 years, gaining awards along the way for both my black & white hand printing and my photography with the BIPP (British Institute of Professional Photographers) & National Awards, including many awards for my black & white hand printing, finally gaining the prestigious Iford Photographer of the Year Award, the UK's National Award, for black and white photography.
I have 3 fantastic grown-up children and 4 lovely grandchildren. One of which (Tia) was born with the genetic condition Cystic Fibrosis.
Tia is now three and a half years old, and has been on medication to help her condition since birth, as time goes on, she will require more medication and the possibility of more frequent hospital visits to help her keep as well as possible.
All of this will cost money, as a way of contributing towards spiralling costs, I donate 25% of any of my limited edition prints directly to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
